Frankfurt School of Finance & Management in cooperation with Oppenheim Asset Management Services manages the European Fund for Southeast Europe (EFSE, for details see www.efse.lu). EFSE is a private – public partnership of a renowned group of international finance institutions, serving micro and small enterprises as well as private households through local financial institutions.
Frankfurt School wishes to employ an:
Investment Analyst – Country Office Ukraine
The candidate will work in Kiev and will closely cooperate with the Central Risk Management Team in Frankfurt.
Duties and Responsibilities
Market observation and analysis
Ongoing observation of local financial markets including regular market updates and identification of potential risk factors
Establish and maintain relationships with sector institutions, e.g. central bank, Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) and International Financial Institutions (IFIs)
Analysis of potential Partner Lending Institution (PLI) investments
Carry out due diligences of potential PLIs
Structure PLI investments in compliance with the Investment Guidelines
Prepare Quarterly Risk Reports for local PLIs and present them to Central Risk Management
Identification of new investment opportunities and potential for enhancing existing or creating new EFSE financial instruments and products
Monitoring and Reporting
Carry out regular visits to existing PLIs
Analyse financial statements and other reports submitted by PLIs on a regular basis
Prepare regular monitoring reports assessing the institutional risk of each PLI and PLI Investment
Personal Competencies and Skills:

o Requirements: Willing to travel within the country and on an exceptional basis within the region and to Western Europe; Readiness to work extra hours, if necessary
Qualification:
o Academic: university degree in economics with specialization in banking/finance, complementary qualification as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) would be considered an asset
o Professional experience: Minimum 3 years professional experience in banking and finance, ideally in a second-tier bank or financial institution
o Know-how: Strong knowledge of local banking law, bank regulation and supervision. Strong knowledge of IFRS, auditing regulations and legal stipulations on money laundering. Strong skills in credit analysis of banks and non-bank financial institutions and in-depth analysis of financial statements; attention to detail, report writing skills; strong numerical skills with understanding of IAS and IFRS
o Languages: Excellent English language skills are a must (verbally and in writing)
